Vermiculite
Type: Crude Vermiculite & Exfoliated Vermiculite
Detailed Introduction
Vermiculite is a hydrous phyllosilicate mineral which undergoes
significant expansion when heated. Exfoliation occurs when the mineral is
heated sufficiently, and commercial furnaces can routinely produce this effect.
Vermiculite forms by the weathering or hydrothermal
alteration of biotite or phlogopite.

Al2O3: 7-9%
Fe2O3: 4-20%
MgO: 22-36%
CaO: 2.0-3.5%
K2O: 2.1-4.6%
TiO2: 0.2-1.5%
