It tastes bitter and salty. Relative density is 2.662. 1g dissolves in about 8.5mL of water. It’s insoluble in ethanol and acetone. The pH of 5% aqueous solution is about 5.5 to 8.5. Usage: It is used as seasoning and salt substitute. Character Potassium sulphate, also called SOP fertilizer, arcanite, or archaically known as potash of sulfur) is a non-flammable white crystalline salt which is soluble in water, competitive prices. Potassium sulphate is commonly used in fertilizers, providing both potassium and sulfur.
