In the latter case, enough space must be provided between the bottom of the gas box and the liquid level to prevent siphoning of liquid up the drain tube. Mist eliminators are primarily used in gas separation columns to remove liquids from the gas stream. As a gas stream with entrained liquid flows through the mist eliminator mesh, the liquid collects as droplets. This results in creating a drier gas downstream of the mist eliminator. Mesh Pad Demister Working Principle The demister pads work by coalescing smaller liquid droplets by obstructing their path.
