Carbon Dioxide Volume Tester

Background Coefficient of friction is the amount of friction existing between two surfaces. A low value of coefficient of friction means less force is required for sliding to occur. A higher value means more force is required. COF will be different depending on the materials that are interacting with each other. Packaging film COF refers to the level of 'slip' that the packaging material has when interacting with different parts of packaging machine or materials. Controlling COF is importance in optimizing performance and avoiding problems in forming, transporting, and storing of packages. COF can be affected by several factors including antiblock additives, corona treatment, antistats, inks, varnishes, adhesives. Gel Strength Tester

Application Gel strength can be defined as a measure of the ability of a colloidal dispersion to develop and retain a gel form based on its resistance to shear. Bloom is the specific measure for the gel strength/firmness of the gelatin. The Bloom values are determined by measuring the force (in g) required to depress the surface of a 6.67% gelatin gel (after gelling 16-18 hours at 10°C) to a distance of 4 mm. So, the higher the value, the stronger the firmness of the gel.The Bloom in grams is measured by a specified probe to depress the surface of gel. The lower-pressure chamber is firstly evacuated, followed by the evacuation of the entire cell.
