SCRAP BUCKET
In steelmaking equipment, the scrap bucket is a device for loading scrap steel, used to inject scrap steel into the steelmaking furnace. The steel bucket mainly has two types: bottom opening feeding and mouth dumping feeding.
USES SCRAP CHARGING BUCKETS USES Scrap charging buckets are used for top loading electric arc furnaces from top -which are designed for an even spread of scrap over the bed of the furnace. Constructed of heavy steel plate, bars and rolled shapes. Bottom doors, fabricated of dished plate are waffled for added strength and allow the bucket to sit on the floor without special auxiliary supports. Cylinder body of rolled plate is welded inside and out. Main bails are of heavy duty construction or for long life - ease of operation. A spreader beam type auxiliary bail and guides, keep the door operating cables from wearing against the bucket.
FEATURES SCRAP BUCKET FEATURES Scrap Bucket Features The scrap bucket bottom usually is a clam shell design-i.e. the bucket opens up by retracting two segments on thebottom of the bucket. Some large-tonnage bottom-opening scrap baskets do not match the ferroalloy melting fumace incaliber, resulting in more material perpendicular to the opening direction and uneven fabric. Uneven fabric sometimescauses scrap to stick to the lining, affecting the life of the lining; sometimes it will cause the scrap to fall on the under-railrail, affecting the normal operation of the under-vehicle, increasing the workload of the operator.
