2-Bu , tene-1,4-diol, also known as 2-Butynediol or 2-Butine-1,4-diol, is a
colorless liquid with a molecular formula of C4H6O2. It has a high boiling
point and low vapor pressure, making it a useful solvent for various organic
compounds. The compound is also used as a chemical intermediate in the
production of other chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes.
In addition, 2-Butene-1,4-diol is used as a cross-linking agent for polymers
such as polyurethane and polyester resins.
