Chemical properties: white shiny flake crystal or white crystalline
powder.Melting point 137-138℃, refractive index 1.571.Insoluble in water,
slightly soluble in ether, slightly soluble in boiling water, soluble in
ethanol and chloroform.Soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid does not show
color, into the solution after the drop of nitric acid is orange.Odourless,
slightly bitter taste.
It is mainly used as antipyretic and analgesic drug. It has a slow and lasting
effect on headache, neuralgia, arthralgia and fever, but it has a weak anti-
rheumatism and anti-inflammatory effect.Excessive dose can lead to
methemoglobin disease, resulting in hypoxia of the body, long-term drug use can
damage the kidney, even cause nipple necrosis, should be used with caution.
