An oil cooler typically consists of a metal heat exchanger that cools the
engine oil by using a cooling medium, such as air or coolant. The cooling
medium flows through pipes in the oil cooler, exchanging heat with the engine
oil and carrying away the excess heat. This allows the oil cooler to keep the
engine oil within the appropriate temperature range, improving lubrication
effectiveness and protecting the engine's normal operation.
