Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC)

Cellulose ethers are an important class of commercial water-soluble polymers
used in construction and construction industries. Cellulose ethers can
increase the viscosity of aqueous media. The viscosity-increasing ability of
cellulose ether is mainly controlled by its molecular weight, the chemical
substituents attached to it, and the conformational characteristics of the
polymer chain. Methyl cellulose (MC), methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (MHEC),
ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC), methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose (MHPC),
hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), Hydrophobically modified hydroxyethyl
cellulose (HMHEC) alone or in combination is the most widely used cellulose
ether in mortar formulations.

Methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose ether(MHEC) is a kind of methyl cellulose
derivative which is made from natural high polymer cellulose. It is widely
used in many different industries as water retention agent, thickener,
adhesive agent and dispersant etc. It could dissolve in water and form a
clear solution with specific viscosity. MHEC have a good stability even
though in alkaline environment and provide a good stability in heat
environment. Widely used in drymix mortar industry, oil drilling, detergent
and paint ＆ costings etc.
