Hydroxypropyl starch ether is a starch-based additive designed for dry mortars
in the construction industry, imparting unique properties to cement and gypsum-
based products.
Hydroxypropyl starch ether, which has a similar chemical structure to
hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), not only provides similar functions to
hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), but also has good compatibility with
other building aids. Capacitance. Used in conjunction with hydroxypropyl
methylcellulose (HPMC), hydroxypropyl starch ether can play a better thickening
effect, with better crack resistance and processability. It works well in
neutral and alkaline conditions and is compatible with other additives in
gypsum or cement-based building materials. The cost of mortar formulations can
be significantly reduced by adding starch ethers.
