FRP Pultrusion Profile

Pultrusion is a continuous process using fiber reinforcements with thermosetting resin matrices. Pre-selected reinforcement materials, such as fiberglass roving, mat, woven fabrics or stitched fabric, are drawn through a resin bath in which all material is thorougly impregnated with a liquid thermosetting resin. Typical resins include polyesters, vinyl esters and phenolics. The wet-out fiber is formed to the desired geometric shape and pulled into a heated steel die. Once inside the die, the resin cure is initiated by controlling precise elevated temperature. The laminate solidifies in the exact cavity shape of the die, as it is continuously pulled by the pultrusion machine. Most any constant cross-section part can be pultruded. Then the product is passed through the mold by the puller clamping mechanism and cut into the required length with a saw. It is lower than steel, usually only 1/7-1/10 of steel. 3. Anti-aging The pultruded profile is made of high-quality thermosetting resin and glass fiber system, which is different from general thermoplastics, and the normal service life of the product can reach 20 years. The best anti-aging effect can be obtained by adding anti-ultraviolet agent and using polyester fiber felt. 4. Easy to maintain The pultrusion profile is made by blending the pigment into the resin. The color of the product can be arbitrarily blended according to customer requirements. It is not easy to fade, does not require paint maintenance and has a self-cleaning effect. 5. Excellent electromagnetic performance The pultruded profile has excellent electrical insulation, no electromagnetism and electric sparks, and can be used in equipment areas where there is a risk of electrical conduction and sensitive to magnetism, as well as in flammable and explosive places. 6. Thermal performance Pultrusion profile is a kind of thermal insulation material with a much lower coefficient of thermal expansion than ordinary plastics. Pultrusion has excellent mechanical properties at low temperatures and will not melt at high temperatures, but its strength and modulus will be reduced to a certain extent at high temperatures. , Generally, the applicable temperature range of pultruded profiles is -50℃-100℃.
