What Is Emodin?

Emodin is a natural source of anthraquinone (rhubarb and many other plants) that
is used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is a plant resin that can be isolated
from rhubarb, sea buckthorn, and knotweed. It has laxative and antiviral effects
but is not without toxicity.

As an effective ingredient in rhubarb, knotweed, polygonum multiflorum and other
herbs. Emodin has various functions such as laxative, antibacterial and anti-
