How to Repair A Door Hinge

1. The wood screws do not match the wood and cause looseness

Failure status: When making furniture, the wood screws are not screwed into the
wood with a screwdriver (screwdriver), but with a small hammer, so that the
wood screws do not match the wood. When the door is opened frequently, the wood
screws that are nailed into the wood will cause sliding teeth due to vibration,
which will loosen the 4 inch exterior door hinges / matte black exterior

The corresponding solution and repairing method: remove the door hinge, find
the same length, but thicker than the original wood screw, and the wood screw
that can pass through the hinge hole, and then screw it into the door frame
with a screwdriver (screwdriver). Or use an ax to chop a few small wooden
wedges after the hinge is removed, dipped in the glue, and use a small hammer
to drive the screw into the screw L. After the glue is solidified, use a
carpenter's shovel to shovel the exposed leftover wedges of the frame and re-
use the original wood screws. Screw the screwdriver (screwdriver) into the
original hole position.

2. Improper selection of hinge screws and incorrect installation process lead
to loosening

Corresponding solution repair method: The repair method is: select an
appropriate hinge and replace the screw. Generally, if the door length is more
than 100 cm, one and a half pairs of 65 mm long hinges should be selected, and
25 mm long wood screws should be used. For small cabinets, chests of drawers,
and writing desks, when the door is 50 to 100 cm long, one or one and a half
pairs of 50 mm long hinges should be selected, and 18 mm long wood screws
should be used. For small doors such as bedside cabinets, a pair of hinges with
a length of 40 mm and wood screws with a length of 16 mm should be selected.
