China Manufacturer Industry Standard high pressure oil seal
High pressure oil seal is a type of rotary shaft seal designed to withstand high pressure applications. These seals are used to retain oil on rotating shafts in mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes.
Like other types of oil seals, high pressure oil seals consist of two main parts: a cylindrical outer covering with an interference fit that seals statically against the housing bore, and a sealing lip that seals dynamically and statically against the shaft. The sealing lip is usually made of an elastomeric material such as rubber or silicone, which provides a flexible seal between the shaft and the housing. A spring is often used to help maintain contact between the sealing lip and the shaft.
High pressure oil seals are designed to withstand higher pressures than standard oil seals. Most oil, grease, and bearing seals with elastomeric seal lips are designed for zero pressure but will provide adequate service up to 3psi (0.2bar) 1. High pressure oil seals, on the other hand, can withstand pressures up to 60psi (4.1bar) continuous depending on shaft speed; up to 150psi (10.3bar) max. pressure spikes.
High pressure oil seals are used in a wide range of applications where high pressures are encountered, such as in pumps, motors, compressors, machine tools, brakes, clutches, and mixers. They are available in a variety of materials and designs to meet the specific requirements of different applications.
