Last week, on a business trip to Shanghai, a customer of integrated hydraulic
cartridge valves invited me to discuss the development of an integrated
hydraulic cartridge valve. They had established an office in Shanghai for 6

necessary, they asked me to go to their Shanghai office.

Although it only takes 3.5 hours to drive from Ningbo to his Shanghai office, I

different people in the carriage and encounter some interesting things. As soon
as I sat down, I saw the passengers in the front two rows struggling to put
their luggage on the rack. I could understand his difficulties and awkwardness
and was willing to help. Although none of the passengers around him helped him,
I quickly got up and walked over, and we put his luggage together.

After returning to my seat, the word 'empathy' came to my mind. Empathy not
only includes being able to understand someone else's emotions, but also the
desire to help them alleviate their pain. In other words, even if you don't
help in the end, your thoughts should be 'I sympathize with you and hope to
help'. But if you only understand his difficulties and don't want to care, then
it's not empathy. In fact, in the business of integrated hydraulic cartridge
valves, empathy is also indispensable. When you encounter a sympathetic
customer or supplier of integrated hydraulic cartridge valves, it is easy to
reach a consensus, not only saving time, but also taking care of emotions.

A few days ago, while pondering a book on brain science, it mentioned that the
ability of human empathy is generated by the cooperation of ten different brain
regions, collectively known as the "empathy circuit". This circuit determines
physiologically how much empathy each of us can generate. The reason why a
person behaves cruelly is because the empathy circuit has malfunctioned.
Overall, those with strong empathy have a higher frequency of connecting with
the world, and human life is not just about "surviving oneself". Everyone has
their own special values for people and things, and there is a deep connection
between people. This cannot be separated from our "empathy".

Those who are called villains, or those who are difficult to understand, are in
this state where their empathy is relatively weak. What does it mean without
empathy? It means that one cannot imagine how the other person feels, what one
has done, what impression they have left, or even how to communicate with
others. Not only that, they never even thought that others have their own
perspective on problems. In this situation, they will completely ignore the
thoughts and feelings of others, only care about what they want to do, and
firmly believe that their ideas are 100% correct; If someone disagrees with
them, they will think that the other person is either wrong or stupid.

I am most afraid of working with people without empathy. Some integrated
hydraulic valve customers, without empathy, always believe that having orders
is God. Integrated hydraulic cartridge valve engineers, without empathy, always
think that the other party is stupid. Integrated hydraulic cartridge valve
suppliers, without empathy, always think that the customer does not understand.

In life, regardless of whether the people around me are willing to help those
in need, I can understand their emotions and the desire to help them alleviate
their pain. In work, regardless of whether the colleagues of integrated
hydraulic cartridge valves have empathy or not, AAK can understand customers'
emotions and have the desire to help them not waste time or step into pitfalls.
