AAK Hydraulic Cartridge Valve Corrosion-Resistant for over 1 year

Manator is from Indonesia and has been engaged in the procurement of hydraulic
components for 2 years. At the beginning of last year, the hydraulic power unit
they sold for deep-sea oil drilling was complained of as abnormal by customers
6 months later. The root cause is severe corrosion on the surface of the
hydraulic cartridge valve in the hydraulic system, leading to dysfunction of
the hydraulic cartridge valve. Manator was very confused because the valves
sold to other markets from the same batch production has no complaint for over
1 year. The original hydraulic cartridge valve manufacturer stated that the
corrosion in deep sea is severe, and the only solution is to replace the
corrosive valves with new ones, and the service life can be only guaranteed for
6 months or less. The 6-month frequency of after-sales service not only results
in high costs but also dissatisfaction from customers. The boss requested him
to purchase hydraulic cartridge valves with a service life of more than 12
months to replace those corroded hydraulic cartridge valves. After sourcing for
1 week, but still without any results, the customer pushed for after-sales
solutions several times, Manator was in a hurry.

Manator left a message on AAK hydraulic cartridge valve website: Is the service
life of AAK hydraulic cartridge valves guaranteed to be more than 1 year in
deep-sea environments? I did not directly answer his question, but only sent
him a case of a customized hydraulic flow control valve for a Brazilian
customer: "AAK hydraulic flow control valves were still normal after being used
for 15 months near the sea, while that of the peers corroded after 10 months.”

Manator requested me to sample the hydraulic cartridge valves based on his
drawings, and requested me to finish it as soon as possible to replace the
hydraulic cartridge valves complained by customers. 45 days later, AAK sent out
40 hydraulic cartridge valves. After Manator received samples of AAK hydraulic
cartridge valves, he just told us: AAK hydraulic cartridge valves can be used
in their power unit, and their functions are consistent. Then, he didn't reply
to my follow-up email.

Last week, Manator sent an email with a repeat order for 200 hydraulic
cartridge valves, informing us that his customer is very satisfied with this
after-sales service. After replacing with AAK hydraulic cartridge valves, a
year has passed and the hydraulic cartridge valves have no corrosion or
abnormal function. They only trust AAK for hydraulic cartridge valves used in
marine conditions in the future. The key of this hydraulic cartridge valve is
its corrosion resistance, which is not difficult for AAK.

1. The selection of materials for hydraulic cartridge valves, with the valve
body made of 3Cr3Mo3W2V hot working die steel, has a corrosion resistance of
over 30% better than other steels. Although the material cost is over 30%, it
is still the preferred material for AAK.

2. The surface treatment of the material adopts a zinc nickel alloy coating,
and the coating thickness is controlled between 10-15μm. Compared to
conventional zinc coatings, the corrosion resistance is more than 3 times
higher.

3. AAK has a SH-90 salt spray testing machine for anti-corrosion testing of
materials, which tests the valve body according to the GB/T2423.17 testing
standard. Ensure that the anti-corrosion of any surface of the valve body meets
the standard, and also ensure that there is no red rust after a neutral salt
spray test for more than 1,500 hours.
