AAK Hydraulic Cartridge Valve 2 in 1 Multi-function

Barnabas is from Pakistan, and has cooperated with AAK for 4 years. Some time
ago, he contacted me and needed my help to customize a 1+1=1 hydraulic threaded
cartridge valve. They have a hydraulic manifold developed by themselves. The
customer feels that the manifold is too complex in the selection of cartridge
valves. Their engineers asked to integrate the functions of the hydraulic
relief valve and flow control valve into a hydraulic threaded cartridge valve.
The cartridge valves in the manifold are all standard parts from HydraForce.
For multi-functional hydraulic threaded cartridge valves, HydraForce has no
time to customize it.

After discussion, AAK engineers decided that it is feasible to combine the
functions of relief valve and flow control valve into a hydraulic threaded
cartridge valve. After 45 days, AAK sent 20 hydraulic threaded cartridge
valves. Last week, Barnabas sent an email asking me to prepare the production
plan of 500 hydraulic threaded cartridge valves in advance. Their manifold was
recognized by customers. Their engineers were satisfied with the dual-function
of AAK hydraulic threaded cartridge valves.

AAK hydraulic threaded cartridge valve can not only adjust the system pressure,
but also realize the easy unloading of the oil circuit when the multi-way valve
stops working. Our engineers have made 3 innovations, which most cartridge
valve manufacturers can hardly think of at the same time.

1. Change of valve spool: there are pilot valve spool and main valve spool, and
there are 3 through grooves connected in turn. The main valve spool is at the
front end of the pilot valve spool, located in the first passage slot, and the
length is less than the length of the passage slot. The pilot valve spool is
located in the third pass slot, the convex part passes through the second pass
slot and extends into the first pass slot, and the convex slope matches the
slope of the second pass slot.

2. Spring change: there is a main spring in the main valve spool. One end of
the spring is against the main valve spool and the other end is against the
valve housing. The outer side of the pilot valve spool is sleeved with a pilot
spring. One end of the spring is against the bulge at the front end of the
pilot valve spool, and the other end is against the locking structure at the
rear end of the pilot valve spool.

3. Change of through-hole: the valve housing is provided with a first through-
hole and a second through-hole. The first through-hole corresponds to the
position of the pilot valve spool, and the second through-hole corresponds to
the position of the main valve spool. The front end of the main valve spool has
a filter pad, the side wall of the main valve spool has a third through hole,
the front end of the main valve spool has a fourth through hole, and the filter
pad has a fifth through hole.

The optimized hydraulic threaded cartridge valve, when the multi-way valve
stops working, the pilot valve spool moves towards the main valve spool, and
the main valve spool moves towards the front end, so that the second through
hole corresponds to the third through hole. The hydraulic oil passes through
four through holes, replacing the functions of relief valve and flow control
valve, and realizing unloading.
